As part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, INSAF Center for Rights and Development, in collaboration with the Environmental and Development Activists Foundation, organized a comprehensive awareness session for marginalized girls and women aimed at raising awareness about violence against women and their fundamental rights.
The event began with an interactive awareness session targeting marginalized women and girls. The session shed light on the concept of violence in its various forms, its negative impacts on individuals and society, and provided support to women to overcome feelings of pain and sorrow, boost their self-confidence, and set clear goals for the coming year.
The session witnessed positive engagement, with participants expressing feelings of support and solidarity. They emphasized the importance of such sessions in empowering them and helping them face challenges.
The event also included an enjoyable theatrical performance aimed at children, promoting values of equality and respect between genders from an early age. The play delivered its awareness message in a simple and engaging manner suitable for children, adding an atmosphere of joy and fun to the event.
The event concluded with a symbolic and touching initiative, where marginalized women and girls gathered to release doves into the sky, symbolizing hope and freedom, and reaffirming the importance of continuing efforts to build a future free from violence and discrimination.
