A. Eman Homaid, Chairperson of INSAF Center for Rights and Development, participated in a specialized workshop titled “Integrating Women’s Perspectives in Peace and Security within the Field of Artificial Intelligence.” The workshop took place alongside the AI Summit in the French capital, Paris, and brought together a distinguished group of Yemeni women, including academics, human rights defenders, engineers, experts, lawyers, mediators, political leaders, and media professionals.
This participation was coordinated with the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and supported by the Office of the UN Envoy, aiming to enhance Yemeni women’s role in the technological and development fields and empower them to contribute to modern technological advancements.
The two-day workshop explored ways to leverage artificial intelligence to support stability and development, strengthen women’s roles in the digital sector, and address the challenges women face in AI. Discussions also covered mechanisms to enable women’s active participation in digital innovation. Additionally, the workshop highlighted the challenges faced by women’s rights and human rights defenders, including cyber blackmail, and emphasized the need for technological and legislative solutions to ensure a safe digital environment for women.
This participation is part of ongoing efforts to integrate technology and development, highlighting the importance of including women in the AI field. It contributes to addressing future challenges and harnessing digital opportunities to promote the economic and social empowerment of women.
