At the invitation of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Chairperson of INSAF Center for Rights and Development participated in the “Launch of France’s International Strategy for Feminist Diplomacy” conference, held in celebration of International Women’s Rights Day.
This was a high-level initiative for the period 2025-2030, with France becoming the first country in the world to launch such a strategy. The initiative aims to enhance women’s representation in foreign policy and diplomacy.
The conference was chaired by the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, and Ambassador Delphine O. It witnessed the presence of many prominent figures in the fields of diplomacy and human rights, including French female ministers and diplomats, along with Nobel Peace Prize laureate Nadia Murad, and many civil society leaders and women’s rights activists.
The event also featured a high-level panel discussion titled “Gender, Digitalization, and Democracy: A Global Issue”, in which the Chairperson of INSAF Center for Rights and Development participated. During the session, she discussed the impact of gender-based violence in digital spaces.
In her statement, the Chairperson of the Center expressed great pride in participating in this historic event, saying:
“It is a great honor for me to be part of this important event that highlights women’s rights in foreign policy. Women’s struggle for their rights is not only a source of inspiration but also the force that drives us towards achieving a more just and inclusive world. We need strategies like this to ensure the integration of women in global decision-making, as their role is essential in bringing about fundamental changes in our societies.”
She further added that the “Safe Space” project, implemented by INSAF Center with support from the French Embassy, is part of the broader effort France is making for women worldwide. The project consisted of four stages and was very beneficial for Yemeni women in continuing their work without any fear, as it aimed to provide safe environments for women and enhance their digital participation.
