Insaf Center Carries Out Second Phase of “Screens of Peace” Initiative

Insaf Center Carries Out Second Phase of “Screens of Peace” Initiative
January 28, 2026

The Insaf Center for Rights and Development is carrying out the second phase of the Screens of Peace initiative for children in Aden, in partnership with the Screens of Peace initiative and several local institutions across the governorate’s districts.

The first screenings of this phase took place on Tuesday evening, January 20, 2026, in Al-Shaab City of Al-Buraiqah District, benefiting 300 children. The screenings have continued to reach urban and remote areas in the districts of Dar Saad, Al-Buraiqah, Sheikh Othman, and Al-Mansoura. Scheduled to run for 16 days, the initiative targets 1,600 children aged 6 to 12.

The Screens of Peace initiative aims to provide children—particularly marginalized and displaced children—with a safe and educational environment. Through purposeful cinematic screenings, it seeks to mitigate the psychological and behavioral effects of conflict, promote mental health and psychosocial support, uphold children’s right to play and recreation, and create safe community spaces that foster social inclusion and informal learning.

The screenings are complemented by interactive activities, including clown performances, competitions, and coloring sessions, designed to entertain children and help them express themselves.

Saleem Al-Aghbari, Programs and Projects Manager at the Insaf Center, said that the initiative is part of the center’s ongoing efforts, in partnership with Screens of Peace, to support children psychologically and socially by providing safe spaces that combine entertainment and education, while alleviating the effects of conflict on their daily lives.

The first phase of the initiative benefited 420 children, and the second phase builds on its success in providing protection, support, and recreational opportunities for children wherever they are.
