Aden – November 3, 2026
Insaf Center for Rights and Development concluded today a specialized training workshop entitled “Strengthening Civil Society Organizations’ Response to Cyber Extortion Cases,” supported by the French Government under the project “E-Justice for Women in Yemen – Brave Women.” The workshop was held in Aden from November 1 to 3, 2026.
The workshop aimed to strengthen the capacities of civil society organizations in addressing cyber extortion cases, enhance participants’ skills in preventing digital risks, providing protection and support, and improving access to legal and psychological redress for affected women.
The training program covered three main areas: technical, legal, and psychological support. These areas focused on securing accounts and personal data, safe ways of dealing with extortionists, preserving and documenting digital evidence, understanding legal rights and reporting and referral mechanisms, as well as providing psychological support while respecting victims’ privacy and dignity.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Insaf Center emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the risks of cyber extortion and the importance of seeking assistance from the relevant authorities and specialized service providers.
The Center reaffirmed that being subjected to cyber extortion or digital violence is never the victim’s fault, and that providing protection and specialized support is a fundamental step toward promoting digital safety and justice for women in Yemen.
