The Ambassador of France to Yemen, Ms. Catherine Corm Kammoun, visited the headquarters of INSAF Center for Rights and Development, where she was welcomed by the center’s team.
During the visit, the ambassador met with the staff and got acquainted with their roles and the nature of their work. She also listened to an overview of the center’s various activities and its efforts in the fields of human rights, women’s empowerment, and the defense of marginalized groups, including its programs focused on child protection and promoting social justice.
The center’s team presented the key projects currently being implemented and their future plans aimed at supporting the groups most affected by conflict and violations, especially women and children.
The meeting also highlighted a new project recently launched by the center through a Zoom seminar, supported by the French Embassy in Yemen, entitled “Online Justice for Women in Yemen – Brave Women.” The project aims to empower women and girls in Yemen to safely access digital justice and reduce cybercrimes, particularly cyber blackmail, which has become an increasing threat amid widespread technology use.
The project includes various activities such as training workshops on digital security, as well as awareness campaigns to promote a culture of digital justice and protect women from rising digital threats.
At the conclusion of the visit, INSAF Center team expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation to Ambassador Catherine Corm Kammoun for her kind visit and her continued support for human rights causes in Yemen, affirming that this gesture serves as a source of pride and inspiration for them to continue their human rights and humanitarian work.
