In continuation of the efforts made by INSAF Center to defend the freedoms of minorities in order to release the Yemeni citizen, Libby Salem Marhaby from the Houthi prisons in Sana’a, INSAF has worked, through cooperation with its local and international partners, to issue the report entitled: The Charge: Being Jewish: A Report on Yemeni Detainee Libby Salem Marhaby , which contains all the detailed information regarding this case, along with the judicial rulings, documents, correspondences, petitions, official correspondence, and schedules.
For four years now, the family of Yemeni Jewish citizen Libby Salem Marhaby has been following up with official and unofficial authorities in order to ensure his release. Despite the judicial rulings that clearly and firmly state the need to release the Yemeni citizen, Libby Salem Marhabi, same as the rest of the other detainees who do not belong to the Jewish community have been released, the security and administrative authorities under the control of the Houthis in the capital Sana’a refuse to implement the orders without a clear justification for the continuation of this detention.
INSAF has tried, through several official and unofficial channels, to resolve this issue, and to rescue the detainee Libby Salem, who is languishing in prisons outside the framework of the law, while taking into account the poor health condition he suffers from in light of the lack of humane conditions of detention in the security and intelligence prisons. However, we were not able to get any response.
We at INSAF would like to address all those concerned at a local and international level and present them with this important report, which provides documents and evidence of the clear intransigence that refuses to release an oppressed Yemeni citizen, whose only accusation is that he is Jewish.
