INSAF Center for Defending Freedoms & Minorities expresses its strong discontent for the inclusion of the center’s name and logo in the so-called joint statement of 24 civil society organizations “Appreciating the Efforts and Initiatives of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of Human Rights Geneva 4 April 2021”. In this regard, we express our disapproval of such interpolation, which conflicts with the vision, mission, goals, and values of the center.
We at INSAF center focus our efforts on freedoms and the protection of religious minorities in Yemen in particular, and we are not in a position of responsibility that allows us to assess the human rights situation or lack of it in the State of Bahrain. Placing the name and logo of the center among the organizations that support the efforts of the State of Bahrain places us in a position of moral and legal responsibility, with which we have no relationship. Such an act offends us and contradicts the strategy and tasks of the center.
We demand that this statement be withdrawn and that the name and logo of INSAF Center for Defending Freedoms & Minorities be removed from the list of signatory organizations, and that all legal and ethical consequences of this irresponsible act be borne.
