Insaf Center met with the EU Special Representative for Human Rights.

Insaf Center for  Defending Freedoms and Minorities, met with Mr. Eamon Gilmore, the European Union Special Representative for Human Rights.

During the meeting, Mr. Gilmour listened to a brief explanation of the Center’s objectives, mission, and details of the undertaken projects to defend freedoms and protect minorities. Two Yemeni Organization working in the field of Human Rights attended the meeting.

Furthermore, the Executive Director of  the Center talked about  the most important challenges facing human rights work in Yemen, in general, and in the field of defending the rights of minorities and freedoms, in particular. He also reviewed the determined efforts of the Center in order to protect these rights at the level of research, documentation, support and advocacy.

This meeting comes within the efforts of the European Union to support the peace process in Yemen, and an attempt to push for  integrating  human rights considerations in any future political dialogues in Yemen.
