Chairperson of INSAF Center for Defending Freedoms & Minorities Eman Homaid, participated virtually via Zoom in the fourth session of the Forum on Minority Issues at the Human Rights Council, which was held in Geneva on the second and third of December.
During the session titled “Preventing Conflicts and Protecting the Human Rights of Minorities”, INSAF Center raised recommendations regarding the situation of minorities in Yemen, including those related to the situation of the Jewish community and other groups such as Baha’is, Christians and marginalized groups, in light of the exceptional situation that Yemen has been witnessing due to the seven-year ongoing war.
During the forum, experts and participants from different countries of the world provided an overview of the situation of minorities in different countries, including the Middle East and countries experiencing conflict, and the supposed measures to protect rights and minorities, based on international law.
