The Institute for Arab Research and Studies, affiliated with the League of Arab States, has awarded the master’s degree in political science with distinction to INSAF’s chairperson Eman Abdullah Homaid, for her thesis entitled (Political Participation of Minorities in Yemen from 1990-2014).
The dissertation committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Hala Al-Sayyid Ismail Al-Hilali, Professor of Political Science and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administration at October 6 University – as supervisor and president, and Prof. Dr. Sobhi Qansoua, Professor of Political Science at the Faculty of African Studies at Cairo University – as an evaluator, and Prof. Dr. Hala Ahmed Al-Rashidi, Professor of Political Science at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University – as an evaluator.
Homaid’s thesis centered around minorities in Yemen and the extent of their political participation. Her thesis also discussed the most important internal and external challenges facing minorities that stand as an obstacle to their practice of political activity.
