In a pioneering step to support children’s rights in Yemen, INSAF Center for Rights and Development, in collaboration with the DT Institute, has launched “Waiy” online platform specialized in raising awareness in the community about children’s rights, and providing legal and psychological support for children who are victims of violations.
The platform aims to fill the existing gap in the field of protecting children’s rights in Yemen, offering comprehensive educational content about children’s rights, with a particular focus on the six most common violations.
Additionally, the platform provides a direct hotline that operates around the clock to receive reports of violations and provide necessary support through a specialized team to offer legal and psychological support for affected children and their families, identify the violation, determine the child’s immediate needs, and raise awareness about children’s rights.
“Waiy” platform is committed to the principle of information confidentiality regardless of the circumstances. Founded and launched on a voluntary basis, its primary goal is to defend children’s rights.
Ali Salam, the Projects Manager, mentioned that “Waiy” platform is a real bridge for easy communication with victims and caregivers through the reporting mechanism designed on the platform’s website.
He added that all information received is handled with complete confidentiality by the project team, which is an excellent step in safeguarding the safety of the victims and their families.
