INSAF Center for Rights and Development, in partnership with the DT Institute, has implemented an ambitious project to protect children in the Aden governorate, specifically targeting marginalized groups and the most vulnerable categories.
The project primarily aims to deliver community messages for children’s rights, monitor the six violations against children, identify needs, conduct field awareness campaigns, and advocacy campaigns.
The project’s first sessions have commenced, targeting 25 caregivers and children in the Al-Sheikh Othman district. The session focused on raising awareness among participants about basic children’s rights and shedding light on physical violations experienced by children in conflict areas.
The upcoming period will witness more interactive awareness sessions, targeting stakeholders and influencers in the local community, with the aim of pressuring decision-makers to take decisive actions to enhance child protection.
It is worth mentioning that this project seeks to build a conscious community about children’s rights, capable of protecting them from all forms of violence and exploitation. Raising awareness in the community about children’s rights and providing legal and psychological support to children who are victims of violations is the first step towards achieving positive changes in children’s lives.
