Within the framework of the serious endeavors to protect minorities in Yemen, the INSAF Center administration met with Mr. Christophe Katsahian, the French Deputy Ambassador to Yemen. During this meeting, a number of issues related to religious and ethnic minorities were discussed along with way of promoting and protecting them.
Both sides discussed the ongoing violations against minorities in Yemen during the ongoing conflict, in light of the lack of local and international attention to these issues, in particular the issue of Yemeni Jews who are subjected to continuous violations, including that of Libby Salem Marhaby, who is still being held in Sana’a under the grip of the security authorities controlled by the Houthis.
Ways of cooperation between local and international organizations were discussed during the meeting, in a way that would enhance public freedoms as well as protect minorities in Yemen. This in a way also leads to respecting freedoms and to the consolidation of the principle of coexistence and acceptance of others.
