French Ambassador Visits Insaf Center to Monitor Progress of the E-Justice (Brave Women) Project

 Insaf Center for Rights and Development received Her Excellency Catherine Corm-Kammoun, the Ambassador of France to Yemen, during her field visit to Aden. The visit aimed to follow up on the implementation of the “E-Justice (Brave Women)” project in Yemen.

During the visit, the Ambassador, accompanied by Insaf Center team, reviewed the progress of the project’s activities, specifically those related to supporting and developing the Cyber-Extortion Unit. They discussed efforts to enhance the response to extortion cases and cybersecurity, while highlighting key achievements, challenges, and the technical and logistical requirements necessary to further develop the work.

 

In a meeting with the Insaf Center team—attended by Mr. Saleem Al-Aghbari, Programs and Projects Manager, and Mr. Abdullah Abbas, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, along with the financial and advisory teams—the most prominent activities carried out under the joint cooperation between  Insaf Center and the French Embassy were presented.

 Insaf Center team emphasized that the “E-Justice for Women in Yemen – Brave Women” project focuses on empowering women and enhancing their digital protection. This is achieved through providing technical, legal, and psychological support, building capacities, and improving coordination mechanisms with security and judicial authorities to ensure a more effective response to such cases.

For her part, the French Ambassador reaffirmed her country’s commitment to supporting efforts aimed at promoting human rights, women’s empowerment, and combating cybercrimes in Yemen, praising the significant role played by  Insaf Center in this field.

This visit comes within the framework of strengthening the partnership and ongoing cooperation to bolster digital security, develop protection mechanisms, and improve institutional responses to cyber-extortion crimes in Aden
