Insaf Center for rights and development concluded the training program for Yemeni journalists on social cohesion and minority rights, which was implemented in partnership with the French Agency for Media Development (CFI), virtually on the “Zoom” platform during the period from June 30 to July 13, 2024.
Eman Homaid, the center director, said: The training concentrated 72 journalists (male & female) it divided into three stages, where they came from several Yemeni governorates, representing different media outlets. Homaid indicated that the training was implemented within the framework of the “Yamaniat” project, which aims to enhance the ability of journalists, especially female journalists as well as to enhance social cohesion and protect the rights of minorities through accurate and comprehensive media coverage in Yemen.
Meaád Mohammad Juman (trainer), praised the training, describing it as fruitful and effective with an open and committed group. He also added: The training contributed to raise the cultural and social awareness of participants through media and a deeper understanding of minority issues as he mentioned that this training assisted to develop special journalistic skills, promoting social responsibility and equality, and highlighting the voice of minorities and marginalized communities promoting positive interaction with the public. It is also encouraging journalistic innovation and creativity, and in-depth analysis of issues related to cohesion and minority rights, which helps them write enrich reports with effective information.
As it mentioned, Insaf Center for Rights and Development is a Yemeni non-profit organization that seeks to defend public freedoms, rights of minorities and women in Yemen.
