French Ambassador for Human Rights Commends Insaf Efforts and Reaffirms France’s Support
As part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of human rights, Ms. Isabelle Rome, Ambassador for Human Rights at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, held an official meeting last week at the Ministry’s headquarters in the French capital with Eman Homaid, Chairperson of Insaf Center for Rights and Development.
The meeting included extensive discussions on developments in the human rights situation in Yemen, as well as issues related to children, women, youth empowerment, and strengthening the role of national institutions in protecting fundamental rights and freedoms.
In a notable step reflecting the importance of dialogue, the French Ambassador documented the meeting in an official post on LinkedIn and X. In her post, she praised Humaid’s prominent role, describing her as “a former Marianne Prize laureate who tirelessly continues in Yemen to create safe spaces for children by defending their rights and combating all forms of violence in the name of human dignity.” Rome reaffirmed her country’s position, stating: “France supports her in this remarkable work.”
For her part, Eman Homaid expressed her appreciation for this constructive international engagement, noting that the attention shown by French diplomacy underscores the importance of building bridges of cooperation with international organizations. She emphasized that “such partnerships represent a fundamental pillar for developing protection programs, strengthening the capacities of local institutions, advancing pathways to justice and empowerment, and reinforcing the role of national institutions in fulfilling their responsibilities to safeguard rights and freedoms.”
This interactive dialogue stands as a vivid expression of international solidarity and confirms that joint action remains a key driver for achieving tangible and positive change in the lives of those affected by the consequences of conflict.
